I grew up with Jason and will forward each of your contact requests to his sister, Lisa, as I live close by. He is a F-15 pilot that was stationed in Florida and then went to Korea and I have not had time to catch up through his sister, but I will in the next couple of weeks. |

Good day…
I am trying to locate someone that I went to elem., junior, and high school with, and I haven’t seen since her graduation day from the USAFA in Colorado Springs, CO. Can you tell me if there is a way to find out where she is stationed at, if she is still in the AF? I am trying to locate Shelby Elizabeth Ortiz, who was class of 1998, who is from the California Area.
Any help would be appreciated!

Bad News By Elizabeth D. Ferrill on Thu, 10 Feb 2005 @ 16:19 GMT |
Class of 1998 |

 |

I have some bad news; last night about 6pm, Capt. Gil Munoz (Class of 1998) passed away at the Cape Fear Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. He died from a very serious form of pneumonia and he was only sick for two days. His wife, Emily, his parents and his sister were at the hospital along with many, many friends.
Gil will mostly likely be buried at Arlington soon.
Emily has indicated that Gil desired that contributions be made to the "Special Operations Memorial Foundation," a foundation supporting the children of fallen Special Operations Warriors, in lieu of floral tributes.
Contributions may be sent to:
Special Operations Warrior Foundation
PO Box 14385
Tampa, FL 33690
Online contributions can also be made at www.specialops.org/contribute.asp.
Thanks,
Beth Ferrill

Beth: I would like to send a card to Emily Munoz. Could you provide a mailing address for her? - post office box would be fine. I am Elizabeth Purvis-Berg's aunt and fell in love with Clarkie and Gil last spring when they hosted Elizabeth and Norse Berg's wedding reception at their home in Dover. What an incredible loss! I grieve for Emily, for all of Gil's friends, and for this country. We lost a great man. Thank you for all that you did to support Gil's family.

Gil Munoz was buried on Tues, 22 Feb with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. With a beautiful and heart-wrenching ceremony, the US Army said farewell to one of its most promising young leaders and from the back, a small collection of Air Force blue said good-bye to a beloved friend and brother. Gil, you will always be with us. Here's a toast . . . |
